Biddeford Campus

Meet the Atlantic Ocean up close and personal. Enjoying the ocean comes naturally to students at UNE. The Biddeford Campus has more than 4,000 feet of ocean frontage at the mouth of the Saco River where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Students at the Biddeford Campus find some of the best resources in the nation for studying the natural sciences, health sciences and osteopathic medicine. Facilities include the Harold Alfond Center for the Health Sciences and the Marine Science Education and Research Center, which houses our Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center.

In fall 2012, the new Alfond Forum opened. The facility includes a 105,000-square-foot athletics complex featuring: an ice hockey rink with 900 seats; a basketball court with 1,200 seats; classroom space; a fitness center; and multi-purpose indoor practice courts that can also be used for performances and other events.

Research is an important part of the UNE experience. UNE has has established six centers of excellence for research and scholarship, to provide opportunities for collaborative research and scholarship. The centers are also designed to expand undergraduate and graduate student research at UNE.
