UNE’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM), Center for Excellence in Health Innovation, and the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) are coordinating offerings in underserved care and presenting them to qualified and interested COM students in order to further develop interprofessional knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to care for underserved patients as well as to recognize student accomplishments and encourage students to seek future positions in the care of the underserved. We anticipate choosing about 10–15 CUP scholars who are students from each of next year’s first and second year COM classes. Scholars will be expected to routinely participate in activities located on UNE’s Portland campus and maintain a solid academic record.
