Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
The Office of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs is responsible for all aspects of the academic endeavor at UNE. The academic life of the University is expressed primarily through the four colleges of the university, with all the components of each that focus mainly on the academic engagement of faculty through teaching, research, scholarship, and service.
The University of New England is a vibrant, exciting place to work, study, teach, and learn. We have two distinct and beautiful campuses in Maine. I invite you to take a virtual tour of both of the campuses to learn more about their individual characteristics.
The faculty here are dedicated to their discipline, to advanced teaching methodologies, and to engaging the students in a variety of ways in the classroom, labs, clinical sites, and research centers, to name a few. Beyond the classroom, faculty and students are increasingly active in research and scholarship ranging from biomedical research to studies of19th century American culture.
The mission of the Office of the Provost is to execute leadership of the academic area of the university, which supports teaching and learning, research, outreach to the community, and institutional assessment.
In addition to the academic engagement with the colleges through the academic deans, the provost guides the mission of the University of New England in concert with the Offices of Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Information Resources, and Sponsored Programs.
