Directions to UNE

Throughout the year the University of New England offers a variety of opportunities for students and their families to visit our campuses. Click to schedule a visit or attend an information program:  undergraduate student visits,  graduate student visits.

University Campus:

The University Campus of UNE is in Biddeford on the coast of Maine, 20 miles south of Portland and 90 miles north of Boston.

From North and South:

Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 32 (Biddeford). After the tollbooth, turn left at the traffic light intersection onto Route 111 (Alfred Street). Staying in the right lane to the intersection of Route 1, take a left onto Route 1 from the right-hand lane, and then an immediate right as Rt. 111 branches off to the right. Then continue to the next traffic light. Turn right onto Route 9/208 (Pool Street). Follow Route 9/208 approximately 4 miles to the University of New England sign on your left. Turn left at the sign to enter the campus.

To Visit the Admissions Office:
Continue on Route 9/208 past the main entrance sign for 200 feet and turn into the Admissions Office driveway on the right side of Route 9/208. Park behind the Admissions Building (no visitor's parking permit is required).

To visit the UNECOM Office of Recruitment, Student and Alumni Services (RSAS):
 Turn left at the sign on Route 9/208 and enter the main campus. RSAS can be found in the lower level of Stella Maris hall (rooms 127/130). During the academic year, it is advisable to stop at Safety and Security for a one-day parking pass and campus map.

Westbrook College Campus:

UNE's Westbrook College Campus, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, is situated in a suburban Portland neighborhood.

From intown Portland:
Take I-295 to Forest Avenue North (Exit 6B). Follow Forest Avenue to the traffic light at Woodford Street (Dunkin Donuts nearby). Bear left onto Woodford Street and follow it to the light at Stevens Avenue. Turn right onto Stevens Avenue for less than one mile to the campus on your left.

From the Maine Turnpike (I-95):
Take Exit 48 (Westbrook). After the tollbooth, turn left at the traffic light onto Riverside Drive. Take Riverside Drive about one-quarter of a mile to the intersection of Brighton Avenue (Route 25), turning left onto Brighton. Take Brighton about one and three-quarter miles to the intersection of Stevens Avenue (Route 9) and turn left onto Stevens. Continue on Stevens about one mile through three traffic lights. The campus is on your left just past the traffic light at Walton Street.

To visit the Office of Admissions for both Undergraduate and Graduate Programs:
Please enter campus through the North Entrance (College Street). Take your first left into the cul-de-sac and park in the Visitors Parking area. The Admissions Office is located in the first floor lobby of Hersey Hall. If you need additional directions once on campus, please stop by the Office of Safety and Security, located in the White House on the corner of Stevens Avenue and College Street.
