The George and Barbara Bush Center
University of New England – Biddeford Campus
The George and Barbara Bush Center anchors the heritage of George and Barbara Bush in New England. The Bush Center's water views provide students, faculty and visitors the same opportunities to relax, reflect and renew as Walker's Point has done for George and Barbara Bush and their family over the years.
The Bush Legacy Collection within the Bush Center houses material anchoring the Bush legacy in Maine, including memorabilia given to UNE by George and Barbara Bush relating to their home in Maine.
Particular attention is given to the family’s New England heritage and to George and Barbara Bush’s special love affair with Maine. The University of New England is forging an exciting academic partnership with the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M which may eventually include faculty exchanges, student internships, distance learning, and graduate study.
Exhibition: Family First
for a First Family

In the same way the family home at Walker's Point in Kennebunkport is an anchor for generations of the Bush family in Maine, the current exhibit in the gallery at the George and Barbara Bush Center is a photo essay that illustrates, similar to a family photo album, how the intrinsic value of family life not only anchors the entire Bush family but exceeds all else.
Family First for a First Family -The Ties That Bind: A Family Album is an inspirational tribute to a marriage and family life that have known not only extraordinary acclaim, success, and joy, but also trial, tribulation, and tragedy.Together, President and Mrs. Bush's lives and strong marriage are infinitely valuable and uniquely motivational lessons from which there is much to learn and even more to emulate, especially in their life-long dedication to serve others.
The photos in this exhibit - many of which are courtesy of The George Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M - and the exhibit's accompanying text underscore that for George and Barbara Bush family has always come first.
