Deibel and others (created 1941-1945), and mailed from California; St. Petersburg, Florida; Randolph Field, Texas; Northeast Indies and New Guinea. Letters address family and friend matters and mention a brother Billie, a sister Marian, Joan Bailey and Jeannine Haas. Deibel is from Massillon, Ohio where his family still lives. In numerous letters he mentions that many of the local boys are being sent off to serve, and expresses a longing for more correspondence and a fear that he is forgotten. Deibel talks about working hard under the Australia sun and how he can’t wait to be in the cold again. The D-Day invasion and the people killed during the invasion are also mentioned. There are 229 photos taken by and of Ralph Deibel. The pictures include images taken of Dutch New Guinea, Netherlands East Indies and Queensland Australia.
