The George and Barbara Bush Center

The George and Barbara Bush Center anchors the heritage of George and Barbara Bush in New England. The Bush Center's water views provide students, faculty and visitors the same opportunities to relax, reflect and renew as Walkers Point has done for George and Barbara Bush and their family over the years.

The Bush Legacy Collection within the Bush Center houses material anchoring the Bush legacy in Maine, including memorabilia given to UNE by George and Barbara Bush relating to their home in Maine. Exhibits are shown reproducing materials held in the George Bush Presidential Library at Texas A & M University.
Particular attention is given to the family’s New England heritage and to George and Barbara Bush’s special love affair with Maine.The University of New England is forging an exciting academic partnership with the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M which may include faculty exchanges, student internships, distance learning, and graduate study.
University of New England has established the George and Barbara Bush Distinguished Lecture Series, an annual event honoring the legacy of George and Barbara Bush as political and community leaders.

Concurrent with the Card Lecture, the Bush Legacy Collection will feature an array of photos depicting various activities of former president and Mrs. Bush since 1993 related to the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas.
The Department of Special Collections is a division of the University of New England's Library Services. Collections include the New England Osteopathic Heritage Center, the Westbrook College History Collection, the Maine Women Writers Collection, The UNE Art Gallery, and the George and Barbara Bush Legacy Collection.
