Recycling Program

The University of New England community has a history of protecting and preserving the environment. Some recent efforts include expanded recycling, materials re-use, energy conservation retrofitting (lighting and HVAC), water conservation retrofitting (toilets and shower heads), and the application of green building practices (Marine Science Center). The motivation behind each of these endeavors does not come from one individual, but many of UNE's members at all levels of the organization. There is commitment to environmental stewardship from administration and staff within every department. This type of support is the key to the creation of even more successes in protecting and preserving the natural environment at the University of New England.
