SEA SEMESTER at WOODS HOLE
The experience at SEA is a superb adventure for students with or without sailing experience. The first 6 weeks of this 12-week program is spent at Woods Hole, the center of oceanographic research in Massachusetts. The second 6 weeks is spent aboard a 134 ft. sailing vessel in either the Pacific or Caribbean. Seventeen college credits are earned in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, and Oceanography. Website

SFS offers students an opportunity to learn technical and professional research skills at the heart of some of the world’s environmental hotspots. School for International Training (SIT)
Field-based learning is the cornerstone of SIT Study Abroad. In addition to formally structured coursework, and language study, students undertake a month-long independent study project. Building on field study techniques acquired earlier in the semester, and working together with a local advisor, students have the opportunity to conduct research on a topic that they find particularly interesting. From time to time, either over a school break, during the summer, or the month of May, faculty from UNE will take students on short-term trips abroad.
