PHPAC Application Schedule
Freshman Year| September / October | Attend the Pre-Health Professionals Advising Committee’s (PHPAC) informational meeting (notification of time and place will be sent via email) |
| Students who wish to pursue the 3-4 accelerated program in the medical sciences track of the medical biology major must notify UNE’s Registrar’s Office and their academic advisor by the end of the fall semester of their sophomore Year. |
| January | Begin review for professional school admission tests | ||
| February | Request registration packets for admission tests | ||
| Request application packets from professional school application services | |||
| April | Take the appropriate professional college admissions tests (e.g. MCAT exam, GRE, etc.) | ||
| Submit materials to the PHPAC by April 15 of junior year at the following address: Pre-Health Professions Advising Committee Biology Department, University of New England 11 Hills Beach Road Biddeford, Maine 04005 Include an email list of the school / program addresses to which recommendation letters will be sent. | |||
| May | Request catalogues from professional schools | ||
| Write first draft of application essay | |||
| Request applications from individual schools not participating in the national Application Services | |||
| Send transcripts to application services | |||
| June | Write final version of application essay | ||
| Note earliest date for submitting application and mail application | |||
| July | Register to retake admission tests, if necessary. | ||
| August | Register to retake admission tests during the fall, if necessary |
| October | Confirm with your new school that your graduate / medical school application is complete | ||
| Confirm that your letters of recommendation and exam scores have been received. | |||
| Note date, time, and place of Fall admission tests if necessary | |||
| ***3-2 pre-PA and 3-4 pre-medical students*** Materials must be submitted one calendar year earlier (April 15th of sophomore (2nd) year) due to the accelerated program. |
