Honors Program
The Department of Biology sponsors a Biology Honors program. The goal of the Biology Honors Program is to engage advanced students in high quality, independent research under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
Students with exemplary academic performance during the freshman year are invited to enroll in a series of honors seminars during the sophomore and junior years designed to help them learn about the research process. Students typically conduct their research projects during their junior and/or senior year, culminating in a written thesis and oral presentation, which, if approved by an honors examining committee, leads to the award of a bachelor’s degree "with Honors."
