P.D. Merrill Makerspace

UNE’s Makerspace, an innovative campus resource that serves as a laboratory for creation and building, was opened in the spring of 2016 thanks to the inspiration and generosity of many. It’s taken off this fall — more than doubling the number of student research projects. Opportunities also include programming for skills and activities to engage and empower students as citizen scientists who can use innovation and entrepreneurial action to do cool projects.

The Makerspace is located on the lower level of Decary Hall, room 44.

Harold Alfond Athletics Complex

Thanks in part to a $10 million grant from the Harold Alfond Foundation, UNE embarked in 2010 on creating this $20 million complex on our seaside Biddeford Campus. The 100,000+ square-foot complex includes an ice hockey rink, basketball arena, fitness center, multi-purpose indoor practice courts, and observation decks and workspaces for sports information and management. The complex sits beside our distinctive blue turf field.

Campus Center

Our campus center is a multi-purpose facility that includes space for intramural and recreational sports and fitness programs. These spaces include the James A. Beaudry Gymnasium and a six-lane, 25-yard-long swimming pool.
