Facilities and Instrument Holdings
The Department of Chemistry and Physics is housed in the Alfond Center for Health Sciences and Decary Hall. Physics teaching and research laboratories are located on the third floor of Decary Hall, while chemistry laboratories are located on the third floor of the Alfond Center. The Alfond Center, opened in 1997, is a state of the art science facility housing biology and College of Medicine labs, in addition to the chemistry labs. Students taking courses or doing research in the Department of Chemistry and Physics are able to gain hands-on experience using a wide range of modern chemical and biochemical instrumentation.
