Our emphasis on modern American, European, and Latin American history prepares students with the practical analytical, interpretive, and critical thinking skills employers desire in every career field today.
Programs: The department, located on UNE's seaside University Campus in Biddeford, Maine, offers a major and minor in history. Specific courses of study are designed to meet student's individual goals--whether that be preparing for graduate study or pursuing careers in business, museums, law, politics, and beyond. Great Age of Sail'

In spring 2011 a UNE history class, working with the Saco Museum, created the exhibition "Voyages and the Great Age of Sail." Find out more about this semester project and view a slideshow of the semester's work.
