English as a Second Language Services


Learning Assistance Services provides services for students for whom English is a second language (ESL).  LAS coordinates the following resources with the majors and programs of the University:


Proctoring
ESL students may require interventions and instruction in test preparation and test taking. Designated LAS staff are available to consult with students and faculty and to provide information and advice, on a case-by-case basis and also provide test proctoring services to supervise students who have been approved to receive this assistance.  Forms for ESL test proctoring are available at the Leaning Assistance Center.  Proctoring services are available on a short term basis only.


Tutoring
Students can obtain peer and professional tutors, instructors, and learning specialists for assistance with most undergraduate courses. Assistance is also provided in comprehending assigned reading, completing written projects, and improving verbal presentation.

Students can obtain these academic support services by contacting Learning Assistance Services at extension 2443.
