Tutoring Services


tutoringThe LAC provides a staff of peer and professional tutors
to support a wide selection of undergraduate courses. Professional tutoring is provided by certified teachers as well as by LAS writing specialists. UNE’s peer tutors are a select group of students who demonstrate subject proficiency as well as the personal qualities conducive to good working relationships. Peer tutors are selected based on academic achievement, supportive faculty recommendations, and an application and interview process. Peer tutors are trained and many have earned certification by the College Reading and Learning Association.

Tutoring services are free of charge to UNE undergraduate students. Tutors’ regularly scheduled hours are published in the Tutor Schedule, available in the centers at both campuses. In addition, check postings at various locations on both campuses for information regarding the Tutor Schedule. No appointment is necessary to use tutoring services and students may participate in drop-in tutoring as frequently as desired.

Students are encouraged to discuss their individual tutoring needs with the Tutor Coordinator for their respective campus. Every effort will be made to provide appropriate support.
