"I'd have to say the biggest "ah-ha" moment for me was having the proposal to present my honors research at the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association National Conference accepted, and having the chair of the panel tell us he usually works a book deal out of the papers we present for the conference. There are very few undergraduates who present at this conference, and it made me feel really great about how far I've come in my education at UNE with the encouragement and advisement of my professors." read more

"I love the small class sizes here at UNE; you don't get lost in the shuffle. The professors here really care about their students, and they are always willing to help if you don't understand something." read more

"I have been involved with the College Community Mentoring Program for the past three years. Working with children in local schools as a role model has been a great experience. This year, I am president of the program. I have received an AmeriCorps Education Award for my involvement in CCMP. This leadership experience has been rewarding. I feel like I am making a difference both in the lives of the mentors I work with and the mentees that they work with." read more

"I would and do constantly encourage people to take any course in philosophy and to take it seriously. The moments of understanding (and more often lack thereof) add a beautiful color and aesthetic to the looking glass we all use to view our lives." read more

"Although I love the sciences, it can make the brain become very stiff and rigid. Philosophy for me, is like a stretching exercise for my brain. It works with other parts of my brain and makes me think in different ways. This can become a stress reliever." read more
