My favorite thing about being a professor at UNE is the students, and I look forwardevery year to meeting new freshman who’ve chosen UNE to study psychology. I love what I do, and I feel very fortunate to have won UNE’s teacher of the year award three times. My commitment to diversity, and multicultural educational opportunities, is exemplified by a course I taught in the Spring of 2004 on Gay Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Psychology. In addition to my work at the University, I have a small private practice in Kennebunk where I provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families. I believe it is important to practice what I am teaching, so I will continue to maintain my counseling practice as long as I am a professor. In my spare time, I enjoy being a mom, quilting, taking my three dogs to the beach, and working on my second home in Blanchard Maine, which is a 200-year-old farmhouse. |
