Faculty: Please share this information with students in your departments and classes.  Strongly encourage their participation as presenters and attendees.  We are also in need of moderators for the oral presentations and judges for all of the above awards.  Please let Denise Gendron (ext. 2271) know which of these activities you would like to conduct.  Evaluation forms will be distributed for the judges.

Students:  If you wish to do an oral presentation, poster presentation, or artistic exhibit, please completely fill out and submit the presentation form electronically no later than  Friday , April 13th to:  Denise Gendron, College of Arts and Sciences Dean's office (dgendron@une.edu)

The symposium takes place between the end of CAS classes, and the beginning of finals week.  The symposium provides a forum for campus-wide presentation, display, and discussion of scholarly works, original writing, art, or projects that have been completed by faculty and students.  Concurrent sessions will be held throughout the day with presentations made by faculty and students from a variety of departments.

All undergraduate students and faculty are encouraged to participate in the symposium by presenting original research, writing, or other projects.  Oral presentations will be 20 minutes in length.  All presenters should plan to devote 3 minutes of their assigned time for audience questions.

Students who present posters or display artwork must stay at their displays for the entire 2-hour period to answer questions or provide additional information that might be requested by symposium judges and visitors.  Poster presenters not in attendance during this session will not be eligible for prize money.

Co-presentations and panel presentations by students and/or faculty are entirely acceptable and encouraged.  Light refreshments will be provided.  An electronic copy of the schedule will be available during the week prior to the symposium.

***NOTE:  Your project can only be presented by "poster/artwork display" or by "oral presentation."  In other words, you cannot present the same project by both oral presentation and poster display.

To participate in the Symposium, please submit the attached form to Denise Gendron, College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Office, by Friday, April 13th, 2012.  If any faculty members are interested in serving as judges or moderators for one or more presentations, please contact Denise Gendron (dgendron@une.edu; extensions 2271).

If you have additional questions, please respond to this message.
