Anouar Majid was interviewed by the Tangier-based international radio station Medi1 about his childhood in Tangier, American-Muslim relations, and the Moroccan exception during the Arab Spring. The interview, conducted in Arabic in early November, was broadcast on December 3, 2011.
Anouar Majid on Impact of Egyptian Revolt
Anouar Majid was interviewed by WGME 13 for a story on the impact of the crisis in Egypt on Maine. Majid explained that the Egyptian conflict will have an impact on the global economy and the price of oil, affecting the lives of all Americans. "Because of our dependence on Middle Eastern oil," says Majid, "it seems there is no escaping being impacted by what is happening politically in the region." Majid said that much of what happens next will depend on the effectiveness of the pressure on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak from the demonstrators and from Western allies. Watch the interview. Majid interviewed on Dutch TV
An interview with Anouar Majid was broadcast on the Dutch channel Nederlandse Islamitische Omroep on June 13, 2010, part of a series of interviews with eight of the world’s leading thinkers on the question of Islam and the West. The series, titled "Islam in the Mirror of. . . ," started on May 2nd and ran for several weeks. Majid was interviewed in the Netherlands by philosopher Fons Elders in May 2009.
