Welcome to the Westbrook College of Health Professions

 Mission Statement – 2008

“The Westbrook College of Health Professions improves the health of communities by graduating students who are passionate and well equipped to lead, excel, and act as agents of change in a complex health care system, by developing and disseminating new knowledge, and through the delivery of the highest quality relationship-centered clinical and community care.”

The Westbrook College of Health Professions encompasses a range of health disciplines, including basic health sciences, nursing, dental hygiene, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training & exercise science, nurse anesthesia, physician assistant, and social work.  In addition to these programs, we are constantly exploring new collaborative ventures with partners in the other colleges of the University and in the community.

The students, faculty and staff in the College embrace a commitment to interdisciplinary health and wellness, and work as partners to continuously advance health care knowledge and skills. This is evidenced by our commitment to excellence in academics, scholarship and research, clinical and community service, and operations, all core elements of our Strategic Plan (PDF).

All of our disciplines are supported by our office of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), and state-of-the-art technology and teaching practices incorporated in the Clinical Simulation Program (CSP), and our developing Performance Enhancement and Evaluation Center (PEEC).  We work closely with Enrollment Management, Student Services, Information Technology, Library Services, and other campus partners to insure that students are able to gain the maximum advantage during their course of study.

The College offers programs of study on the Westbrook College Campus in Portland, the University Campus in Biddeford, Israel College, and through multiple distance-learning formats.
