Overview
The ever-changing and complex nature of the health care industry demands a workforce with advanced professional training. Managers directing health care projects face the challenges of recruiting physicians, administrative personnel and other caregivers while blending efforts to achieve business value and clinical success. Projects require a solid understanding of strategic planning, technology planning, organizational change, multi-project management, quality and process improvement planning and customer relationship management.
The University of New England’s (UNE) Healthcare Project Management Program provides participants with these very valuable skills. With two distinctive campuses in Biddeford and Portland, UNE has an enrollment of 3,200 and offers medical school and allied health degree programs. UNE has operated its business industry project management certificate program since 1999. The health care project management program is a natural outgrowth of the market demand for skilled project professionals within the health care delivery system.
