focusThe Health Services Management (HSM) 2-Year Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program is a rigorous, problem-solving, focused curriculum designed to prepare healthcare professionals for ever-expanding leadership positions in the rapidly changing health services delivery environment.

The curriculum offers the knowledge and skills needed to design and deliver health services, with an emphasis on effective management and leadership.

Upon completion of the degree program, students will be able to:

Discuss various health services delivery systems and the impact of economic, sociological, psychological and political factors on the design and delivery of services.
 
Recognize the individual, social and environmental determinants of health, disease, and disability, and their impact on health services delivery systems.
   
Discuss the management and administrative skills necessary to effectively and efficiently design, implement, manage and evaluate health services in a variety of settings.
 
Analyze ethical and legal issues related to the design and delivery of health services.
   
Adapt effective leadership skills and techniques to work as a member of an interdisciplinary health-care team.
 
Analyze health policy, applying it to the design and management of health services and health delivery systems.
   
Utilize data from a variety of sources, both primary and secondary, for health services management decision-making.
 
Evaluate health services and delivery systems quality, using a variety of quality assurance and quality improvement tools and processes.
   
Discuss the evolution of health services, governance, financial structure, and organization.
 
Identify current issues in health services delivery as they affect health service organizations, policies and professionals.
 
Value continuing professional development in order to be a leader in the rapidly changing environment of health services delivery.
