The Occupational Therapy Classroom
The Occupational Therapy Classroom, where many OT courses are taught, includes hands-on learning spaces, where students can engage in practice OT intervention sessions. For example, we have a full kitchen, a bedroom area, as well as a mock bathroom. The students complete several practical examinations in this space prior to leaving the security of this learning environment.

The Community Occupational Therapy Clinic
The Community Occupational Therapy Clinic (COTC) also provides many learning opportunities for our students. Students may observe clinical sessions to learn more about OT. Students who complete their clinical rotations at the COTC provide OT services to children under close supervision.

The clinic is comprised of two large treatment areas and has many pieces of state-of-the-art and engaging occupational therapy equipment, such as a ball bath, a “steamroller,” and suspended swings. More on the COTC.

Gross Anatomy Lab 
The junior year of the occupational therapy program at the University provides students with a fascinating learning experience, gross anatomy with lab.  In addition to the traditional classroom lectures, students spend over five hours a week working with human cadavers learning the intricate combination of bones, muscles and organs, which comprise the human body. 

Assisted by an anatomist and two lab assistants (one a member of the OT faculty), our students develop a strong understanding of the structure and function of the bodies many systems. Students have historically found this class to be a challenging but deeply rewarding experience. 

For many of our students, sharing the laboratory space with other health care majors: future osteopaths, physician's assistants and physical therapists presents the opportunity to better understand the unique roles each plays within the health care team.
