Students in the Occupational Therapy Program enjoy the program’s small classes, supportive faculty, and outstanding clinical experiences.
Below are some links to profiles of some of our students and alumni, who share their experiences as students in the Occupational Therapy Program:
Lindsey Holmes '09, '10: "In the occupational therapy, I am very pleased with the faculty’s response to feedback. More than any other department that I have taken classes in, the OT department bases decisions around student feedback and ideas." Profile.

Erin Herlihy-Faherty '08, '09: "The Occupational Therapy Department has the most caring teachers I have ever come across. They constantly challenge us, give us prompt and specific feedback on our performance efforts and really know how to have fun." Profile.
Chou-Hsien Lin '08, '09: "Once, I was meeting a resident in a nursing home. She asked me to help her to get up from the bed, and I did. After helping her, she was just so friendly, even holding my hand, and then I got a kiss on my hand with a “Thank you.” At that moment, I was so impressed, and I could feel just this kiss could make me be a better person." Profile.
Meagan Blodgett '07,'08: "One of the good things about having a school that is strong in sciences is having access to a cadaver lab for Human Gross Anatomy and Neuroscience. These classes, along with junior OT classes, challenged me to think in ways I never thought possible." Profile.
Barbara DeLuca '05,'06: "The faculty are wonderful here. You can go to them with whatever you need to - whether it be a class issue or a personal one. They are also good at giving both positive and constructive feedback." Profile.
Meghan Rosenberg '05,'06: The faculty "use their diversity to teach the students to look at people holistically. I cannot imagine a more supportive or knowledgeable department than what we are blessed with at UNE." Profile.
Rachel Samia '04,'05: "I liked the friendliness of UNE, both on the Biddeford campus and the Portland campus. It's hard to explain in words; however, it is just a sense of feeling welcomed and accepted." Profile.
