Division on Aging
The Division on Aging is a unit within the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine. The Division’s mission is to provide students and other constituents with innovative, progressive, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, high quality education, research and service opportunities relating to geriatrics and gerontology.

Medical Education - We educate medical students in the fields of geriatrics and gerontology. We offer classroom lectures and experiences in long-term care settings through our Geriatric Practicum and interdisciplinary team approach to teaching students how to care for institutionalized and somewhat independent elders. | ||

AGES - We house the Alzheimer’s Geriatric Evaluation Services, which has the highest volume of any such service in Maine. More information. | ||

MatureCare – MatureCare is Maine's largest geriatric physician and physician extender group practice in Maine. We offer physician, physician extender and medical director contracts for long-term care settings. More information. | ||

Consulting Services – We develop and conduct in-service education programs for long-term care and other community agencies and settings. | ||
|
Research – The Division has been involved in Phase II clinical trials of Alzheimer’s drugs. |
