The Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition (CHCC) is a community-based health promotion coalition working to address tobacco prevention & cessation, physical inactivity and nutrition, at both the community and school level. CHCC was awarded one of the 31 community/school partnership grants from the Maine State Bureau of Health to work on these issues with the communities of Biddeford, Saco, Old Orchard Beach, and Kennebunk. The CHCC has an advisory board which represents a number of community organizations with interest in health promotion including all four school districts and municipalities, Southern Maine Medical Center, the University of New England, and local businesses from all four communities. The CHCC also has two School Health Coordinators that are working in the school districts.
Collaborative research proposals are encouraged.
