Who We Are
Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition (CHCC), a Healthy Maine Partnership, is a community-based health promotion coalition working to promote tobacco prevention/cessation, substance abuse prevention, physical activity and nutrition in the communities of: Arundel, Biddeford, Buxton, Dayton, Hollis, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Old Orchard Beach, and Saco. The coalition is a program of the University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. CHCC is funded by the Fund for a Healthy Maine and other grants.
Mission
To promote chronic disease prevention and support healthy lifestyles for those living and working in the CHCC service area through community education and activities that prevent tobacco use and substance abuse while promoting healthy eating and physical activity.
Advisory Board
Our advisory board represents a number of our community partners and organizations with an interest in health promotion working to promote healthy behavior choices and a coordinated school health program in the school districts. This is an active group that meets monthly to provide direction to the coalition to best serve the needs of the communities served. Board members include representatives from:
