Turning Point Faculty Development
Dear Colleague,
We are excited to inform you UNECOM is continuing to make advances in the use of technology in our educational environment. The most recent acquisition has been the TurningPoint student response systems (SRS) that arrived on the university campus last week.
TurningPoint's student response system transforms the standard lecture PowerPoint presentation into a powerful interactive presentation and engages students in active learning. Professors display interactive polling questions that allow every student in the class to select a response via their wireless ResponseCard® keypads ("clickers") and transmit the data immediately to the presentation. This classroom performance system is ideal for encouraging class participation in any size classroom from small enrollments of 10-15 to large enrollment classes of 250 or more.
The student response system is a powerful tool that promotes an interactive process and facilitates many benefits. This response system encourages students' critical thought processes requiring synthesis of knowledge by providing them a way to answer questions. Instructor and students can obtain instant feedback of students' understanding of concepts and content knowledge. This provides instructors with the ability to customize instruction and class discussion based on student responses.
