Research Interests/ Scholarship
With colleagues from UNE/COM, I conducted a series of curriculum evaluation projects. Another focus has been on the scholarship of application as evidenced by a recent contract for curriculum development and evaluation for a national model curriculum with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, 2003 - 2007 that has led to a series of presentations and columns in the ACOS newletter. I served as curriculum & evaluation consultant to the MaineHealth Physician Leadership Development Fellowship, a six session, 18 month program (2008-2009). Because of my experience and expertise in program development, I have become a resource for the college in the writing of grants and proposals. One of my goals is to work with UNE faculty and students in MMEL in research on medical education in ways that promote evidence-based teaching. In the past, this type of work has led to scholarship and research.
