  • An electronic journal highlighting the top papers produced by UNE students, faculty and others on a population health topic.
  • Submissions are papers submitted to the Principles of Population Health course (COM 598) that receive a High Pass.
  • Submissions are accepted from other courses and activities, such as the AHEC clerkship rotation, MPH papers, and other colleges at UNE and beyond that address a Population Health issue.

Why:

  • This journal highlights exemplary papers based on secondary data analysis by UNE students.
  • The journal sets a professional audience for academic papers.
  • The journal provides opportunities for students to be published and recognized in the field.

How:

  • The first issue was developed from submissions to the Population Health course COM 598, Spring 2007, and submissions from courses and activities, such as the AHEC clerkship rotation, MPH papers, and other colleges at UNE and elsewhere that addressed a Population Health issue.
  • All manuscripts, once reviewed by the Editor, are submitted anonymously to the reviewers.
  • Editorial Board members will read and rank these papers, selecting the top papers for the inaugural edition of the UNE Journal of Population Health.
  • Manuscripts are accepted for publication subject to copyediting and transfer of copyright to the University of New England's College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Where:

  • The journal is posted online.
