Deborah Morton Awards Convocation
2011

The 50th Deborah Morton Award Convocation took place Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Ludcke Auditorium on the Portland Campus.
The event recognized: Donna M Loring, author and Tribal Council member of the Penobscot Indian Nation; Gail Kelly, State Director to U.S. senator Olympia Snowe and former mayor of Brewer; Lynn Kraemer Goldfarb, retired president of L.K. Goldfarb Associates; and Kaye Flanagan, former director of Holy Innocents Home Care Service and volunteer board member of numerous organizations, primarily in health care.
2010

The 49th Deborah Morton Award Convocation took place Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Ludcke Auditorium on the Portland Campus.
The event recognized: Ruth Foster, former legislator and Mayor of Ellsworth; Deborah Carey Johnson, president and chief executive officer of Eastern Maine Medical Center; Dr. Katherine Pope, anesthesiologist and champion of hospice care; and Jean Wilkinson, a retired finance industry executive, who in 1989 served as the first woman chair of UNE’s Board of Trustees.

The 48th Deborah Morton Award Convocation took place Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Ludcke Auditorium on the Westbrook College Campus.
The following women received the award: Kate Cheney Chappell, artist and co-founder of Tom’s of Maine; Josephine “Dodie” Detmer, longtime teacher and community volunteer; Meredith Jones, president of the Maine Community Foundation; Laurie Lachance, president of the Maine Development Foundation; and UNE President Emeritus Sandra Featherman, Ph.D.2008
The 47th Deborah Morton Award Convocation took place Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Ludcke Auditorium on the Westbrook College Campus.
The following women received the award: Martha Tod Dudman, author and community leader; Esther Nettles Rauch, Ph.D., educator and former vice president of Bangor Theological Seminary; Leigh Ingalls Saufley, Maine chief justice; and Nancy Thibodeau, community activist and winter sports promoter.

The recipients were Bridget D. Healy, program coordinator, The Baxter Society and Maine Women Writers Collection advisory board member; Theodora J. Kalikow, president of the University of Maine at Farmington; Elizabeth Carter Warren 68, former Westbrook College trustee; and Grace A. Valenzuela, assistant to the superintendent for multicultural affairs, Portland Public Schools.
