Follow the directions and maps below to visit either the University Campus in Biddeford and the Westbrook College Campus in Portland. Also use our printable campus maps and parking maps to easily find your destination on campus.

Throughout the year the University of New England offers a variety of opportunities for prospective students and their families to visit our campuses. Click for information on visits for prospective undergraduate student visits,  graduate student visits or medical student visits.

University Campus:

The University Campus of UNE is in Biddeford on the coast of Maine, 20 miles south of Portland and 90 miles north of Boston.

From the North and South:

Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 32 (Biddeford). After the tollbooth, turn left at the traffic light intersection onto Route 111 (Alfred Street). Staying in the right lane to the intersection of Route 1, take a left onto Route 1 from the right-hand lane, and then an immediate right as Rt. 111 branches off to the right. Then continue to the next traffic light. Turn right onto Route 9/208 (Pool Street). Follow Route 9/208 approximately 4 miles to the University of New England sign on your left. Turn left at the sign to enter the campus.

To Visit the Admissions Office:
Continue on Route 9/208 past the main entrance sign for 200 feet and turn into the Admissions Office driveway on the right side of Route 9/208. Park behind the Admissions Building (no visitor's parking permit is required).

To Visit and Park at Other University Campus Locations:
Turn left at the main entrance sign onto Hills Beach Road to enter the campus. Stop at the Safety and Security Building on your left just after you enter the campus to obtain a free visitor parking permit. This parking permit allows you to park in the "General Parking" (G and G/C) lots. (If you are attending a conference, the conference coordinator may have mailed you a parking permit in advance with your registration confirmation or it may be waiting for you at the conference registration site.)

Westbrook College Campus:

UNE's Westbrook College Campus, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, is situated in a suburban Portland neighborhood.

From Intown Portland:
Take I-295 to Forest Avenue North (Exit 6B). Follow Forest Avenue to the traffic light at Woodford Street (Dunkin Donuts nearby). Bear left onto Woodford Street and follow it to the light at Stevens Avenue. Turn right onto Stevens Avenue for less than one mile to the campus on your left.

From the Maine Turnpike (I-95):
Take Exit 48 (Westbrook). After the tollbooth, turn left at the traffic light onto Riverside Drive. Take Riverside Drive about one-quarter of a mile to the intersection of Brighton Avenue (Route 25), turning left onto Brighton. Take Brighton about one and three-quarter miles to the intersection of Stevens Avenue (Route 9) and turn left onto Stevens. Continue on Stevens about one mile through three traffic lights. The campus is on your left just past the traffic light at Walton Street.

To Park and Find Your Destination on the Westbrook College Campus:

Beginning March 19, 2008
Because of construction of the new College of Pharmacy building, the traffic pattern on the Westbrook College Campus has been altered. The only entrance for UNE community members, visitors, etc. will be via the College Street entrance off Stevens Avenue. College Street will remain a 2-way street.

Access to the Finley Recreation Center Lot, Dental Hygiene Clinic, etc. will be via the small roadway off the visitors' circle in front of Hersey and Goddard Halls. This roadway will be one-way (in) to these locations.

Dental Hygiene Clinic Patients
Patient Parking for the Dental Program will be in the Finley lot, the spaces closest to the Finley Center, and they will be marked accordingly.


Other campus visitors
Except for Dental Hygiene Clinic patients, visitors will need to stop at the Security/Business Services Building at 1 College St. (the white clapboard building at the corner of the North Entrance to campus) to obtain a free visitor parking permit. The parking permit allows visitors to park in "General Parking" (G) lots. (If you are attending a conference, the conference coordinator may have mailed you a parking permit in advance with your registration confirmation or it may be waiting for you at the conference registration site.)
