Employee Accident/ Incident Reporting
Non-Employee Accidents
- If a student or visitor is injured and the injury warrants medical attention, immediately call 911
- Then UNE Security at ext. 366.
- Administer first aid to the extent you are trained or certified.
- Try to protect the accident scene from getting worse
- Report all details to supervisor.
- It is important that you not discuss any conclusions you may have regarding what may have caused the accident with anyone but your supervisor or UNE Safety and Security or the Environmental Health and Safety Office. Do not discuss what you (or the victim) feel to be the cause of the accident with the victim.

- Contact Human Resources at ext. 2339 as soon as possible.
- The supervisor must complete an Accident Report Form immediately and deliver to Human Resources. If you do not have this form, please contact Human Resources at ext. 2339.
- If in doubt as to whether or not the situation is an emergency, treat it as an emergency and follow the steps listed above.
Incident Reporting
An incident is any unusual occurrence; a violation of policy; an employee, student, or visitor accident with or without injury; a disturbance that could disrupt University functions; or a mishap due to faulty equipment. Report all Incidents to the Department of Safety and Security.
