Faculty members have an obligation to return to the University for at least one full year of further service following a sabbatical leave. In the event that the faculty member does not fulfill this service obligation following a sabbatical leave, the faculty member will  be liable for sabbatical leave salary and the costs of associated benefits.

The faculty member will also be required to prepare a written report on the results of the sabbatical leave for submission to the appropriate college dean no later than three months following his or her return, and will be expected to present the results of sabbatical work to the faculty at large within one academic year at an on-campus seminar, workshop, or other similar forum.  The existing Faculty Colloquium could serve as an appropriate vehicle for presentation of sabbatical work.
