Information Session

The Division of Student Affairs cordially invites you to join us for our Annual Family and Friends Weekend taking place Friday, September 29th through Sunday October 1st. A UNE tradition, Family and Friends Weekend is designed to welcome our extended UNE family back to campus, providing an opportunity to observe and participate in our vibrant community. 

 

Family and Friends Weekend showcases all aspects of the University with events that include academic presentations, athletics competitions, delicious seasonal food, as well as a variety of entertainment and outdoor recreation opportunities. 

Please join your student for the fun and memory-making that marks our Family and Friends Weekend. Learn with us. Laugh with us. Celebrate with us!

Hop on board the newest addition to the University of New England’s research fleet, the Research Vessel Sakohki, as you explore the ecology of the Saco River with the staff from the Arthur P. Girard Marine Science Center.

Southern Maine Open Mic Night, a student favorite, will feature some of UNE’s very own artists, artists! Family and friends are welcome to bring along their musical instruments and talents, and join us on stage for this Family and Friends Weekend Tradition.

A great way to get out and explore the beautiful Saco River and see Campus from a different perspective. Paddle up river or leisurely  oat around the Big Blue Cove, nothing is better than experiencing UNE by kayak! a limited number of boats are available to be signed out throughout the day.

PAINT AFTERNOON FUNDRAISER

Campus Center Multi-Purpose Rooms
See what your untapped artistic talents will produce when guided by UNE Art Professor Sarah Gorham. She’ll provide step-by-step help for you to paint a tropical scene from the Caribbean island of Dominica. Requested donation: $15 adult, $10 student/child. All proceeds support needy primary schools on this hurricane-ravaged island that UNE students will visit in January. Leave the event with a 12”x16” canvas on a frame for easy wall display. Enjoy a classic Maine feast! Join us for the “Maine Course” at our Riverview Tent; a dinner of fresh Maine lobster with all the necessary accoutrements. For those who do not enjoy shell sh, other menu items will be available so don’t miss out. As it is necessary for us to place a special order for the lobsters with our vendor, please be aware that we are unable to accept registration for this event past 5pm on September 28.
