Costs for Master of Science / Physician Assistant Program Students

Listed below are the costs for the 2012/2013 academic year.  Direct costs are charges that will show up on the student's bill.

Health Insurance for the student is $2,960 for the 2012/2013 academic year (9/01/2012 - 8/31/2012).  Students who enter the PA Program for the summer 2012 are billed $680 for the summer term (5/31/2012 - 8/31/2012).  Students are required to enroll in UNE's Student Medical Insurance Plan unless proof of comparable insurance can be demonstrated.

Physician Assistant Students are required to purchase equipment/instruments for the program. The Financial Aid Office allows $1,000 under the first year budget to purchase these items.

Books and Supplies
The costs will vary depending on the courses the student is taking. The Financial Aid Office uses $1,450 for the first year of the program, and $600 for the second year of the program as a standard allowance for student budget purposes. The student's actual expenses may vary.

Indirect Costs
Indirect costs are included in the student's financial aid budget. These are not direct charges from the university, but allowances that are given to cover expenses that the student may have while attending school (the allowances listed below cover 12 months of enrollment-summer, fall and spring semesters):

Monthly amounts:
Room and Board  is $1,250/ month (rent, food, utilities)
Transportation is $400 / month
Personal/Misc is $160 / month

Rotation Expenses are included in the budget for second year students to cover additional expenses associated with clinical rotations. The allowance is $1,800 for the year.
