Additional Information for Undergraduate Students

Select a lender for the Federal Stafford Loan Program (new students only)
If this will be your first year borrowing a Federal Stafford Loan at the University of New England, we will mail you a lender selection form during the summer.  Students are required to complete this form if they will be borrowing their Federal Stafford Loan eligibility.  UNE will provide several recommended lenders on this form, as well as a space for students to indicate their own lender choice.

Complete your Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note (new students only)
If this will be your first year borrowing a Federal Stafford Loan at the University of New England, or if you are switching to a new Stafford lender, your lender will contact you to complete a Master Promissory Note that you will need to complete before your loan can be disbursed. Once you complete the Master Promissory Note, your funds will be disbursed no earlier than 10 days prior to the start of classes each semester. As long as you do not switch lenders, you will only need to complete this Note once (for up to 10 years).

Financial Aid for Undergraduate Students Enrolled During the Summer
Undergraduate students who receive Federal Stafford Loan funding will not be able to receive their loan proceeds until they begin the class that makes them half time in terms of enrollment. Half time enrollment for undergraduate students is six credits.

Non-discrimination Policy
The University of New England does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, marital status, ancestry, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, sexual preference, or veteran status in the administration of its educational policies, financial aid policies, or other college-administered programs.
