Of all the thinkers of the past, the great Scottish philosopher David Hume was perhaps the most insistent about the centrality of the study of human nature for all forms of intellectual inquiry.
We have accordingly named our annual lecture on human nature after this illustrious predecessor.
The Hume Lecture is held each fall, when The Human Nature Project brings a noted scholar to the University of New England to give a public presentation on some aspect of human nature.
