Job Description
The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of New England (http://www.une.edu/wchp/pt/) is currently inviting applications for an Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) for its expanding entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program. The non-tenure track position is a 12-month appointment. Applications for regular, part-time employment will be considered.
Current faculty members in the Department of Physical Therapy maintain active teaching, scholarship, and service collaborations within the university, with clinicians and researchers in the local community, and with investigators from around the country.
New collaborations are welcome.
Responsibilities
The ACCE will assume joint responsibilities with the Director or Clinical Education in overseeing the clinical education component of the curriculum. Full-time employment includes additional responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants are physical therapists with eligibility for licensure in Maine who either will have earned a doctoral degree (e.g., DPT; EdD; PhD) or have one in progress. Desirable qualifications for applicants seeking full-time employment include (1) clinical expertise or university teaching experience involving patients / clients with impairments of cardiopulmonary, integumentary, or metabolic systems, (2) ABPTS certification, (3) acute care experience, and (4) a proposed scholarship agenda. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
