Graduate Education Program Coordinator, Curriculum Developer

BASIC FUNCTION

Graduate Programs Coordinator/Curriculum Developer will oversee the graduate programs, which would include the various master’s degree programs (general studies, teaching methodology, and literacy) and the CAGS in Educational Leadership.  This position would have the primary responsibility of developing, reviewing, revising and overseeing all curricula and policies pertinent to the graduate programs.  

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of graduate programs—CAGS and all MSEd programs in the Department of Education, including development of curriculum and the evaluation and improvement of all programs
  • Devising and trouble shooting issues that may arise with students
  • Teaches one course per semester—fall and spring and oversees the on-campus   seminars during the summer
  • Hiring and supervising faculty mentors
  • Serves on the Graduate Curriculum Committee and participates in all department
    meetings as well as additional ad-hoc committees as applicable
  • Successfully completes radiation safety training with 90 day of date of hire
  • Completes new employee orientation and sexual harassment training within 30 days of the date of hire
  • Understands and complies with the University of New England Safety Manual
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Supervision of two department Assistants, and partial supervision of faculty members who mentor or teach any of the programs MSED programs.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

General supervision is received from the Chair, Department of Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • It is essential that this person have a doctorate and also must hold a school administrative license .
  • Familiarity with teachers’ and school administrative licensing regulations, 
    experience in distance education learning is desirable.
  • This Person must have at least 3 years of recent administrative experience.
