implement the College of Health Profession's I2H2 initiative UNE spent $6.5 million renovating the Westbrook College Campus in Portland, to consolidate eight health professions programs on the campus.

Phase I improvements, which were completed in 2001, include:

Renovations to the Blewett Science Center, including new clinical skills labs.

A 125-seat interactive classroom to connect the Westbrook College Campus in Portland with UNE's Biddeford campus and external clinical sites.

Major renovations to classrooms and offices in Hersey Hall and to the Josephine S. Abplanalp '45 Library.

Phase II enhancements will create:

The region's only Performance Enhancement and Evaluation Center (PEEC), where students and practicing professionals can improve their clinical assessment and intervention skills. In fall 2003, UNE received a $1 million federal grant to establish this regional clinical assessment center. The College of Health Professions has already established the Clinical Simulation Program, a key component of the center, that employs several high-tech, state-of-the-art patient-simulators to help students learn to diagnose and treat patients.
