Browser Requirements and Adjustments


Blackboard/WebCT attempts to thoroughly test and certify all new browsers to work with their application. All are advised however that no matter how ambitious software testing may be, companies cannot duplicate all of the permutations that may exist at every customer site.

That being said, here is the list of browsers that Blackboard/WebCT officially supports.

Supported Browsers for Windows

(Windows 2000 and XP)

  • Microsoft IE 6.0 SP1 and SP2

  • Netscape 7.2

  • AOL 9

  • Mozilla 1.7

  • Firefox 1.0, 1.5, 2.0

Supported Browsers for Macintosh

(OS X only)
  • Mozilla 1.7
  • Firefox 1.0
  • Safari 1.2, 1.3, and 2.0
