Course Request and Notification Process

There is an online web form available to request a New Course, Remove a course, add a Co-Designer or for a course Name Change. Please complete all the required fields in the form.

There cannot be duplicate Course Titles or Course IDs on the learning.une.edu server.

Please generate a separate Web form request for each course and each course section if you plan to separate student enrollments according to sections of a class. Your course name (with A,B,C) and CRN should be unique in Banner for each section. This will insure that the course appears multiple times on the server to allow student enrollment in their specific sections. You will only need to design one instance of the course, then back it up (archive) and upload the content (without student records) to each separate course section before allowing student registration.

If you have multiple sections of a class, you may elect to have only one instance of the course on the server and enroll all students from each section in it. This requires less Course Designer work because multiple courses do not have to be maintained or updated.

If there are multiple instructors for the same class or different sections, you should confer with each other before making official requests to insure that course requests are unique and do not overlap. Additional faculty can be added as Co-designers where there is a division in of labor responsible for sections of course content within the same course. Most faculty use a single Blackboard/WebCT course for sections of the same course and use student "groups" in Blackboard/WebCT to identify the sections. This simplifies posting class materials and making content changes after the course has started and students are enrolled.

After you generate a New Course Request you will be notified by email when your course has been created.
