What is GPACU?
GPACU, or the Greater Portland Alliance of Colleges and Universities, is a consortium of six Southern Maine institutions including Maine College of Art, Saint Joseph’s College, Southern Maine Community College, the University of New England, the University of Southern Maine and Kaplan University. Through the consortium, UNE is able to offer collaborative services, including shared library borrowing.
Who can borrow items through GPACU?
If you are a UNE faculty member, staff member or currently registered student, and are in good standing with the UNE Library, you may borrow items in-person by presenting your valid UNE ID at any of the five GPACU libraries.
Is there a charge for GPACU borrowing?
There is no charge for GPACU borrowing. You may however be assessed charges for overdue, unreturned, or damaged materials.
How do I know if a GPACU library owns an item that I want to borrow?
You may search the library catalog of any of the GPACU libraries. Your access to some types of materials may be restricted.
Where do I return a GPACU item?
GPACU items must be returned to the GPACU lending library on or before the due date. You cannot return a GPACU item to the UNE libraries if it was borrowed elsewhere.
Please contact the Circulation Desk at either UNE library: Biddeford Campus, (207) 602-2361, or Portland Campus (207) 221-4330. You may also send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
