What is intercampus delivery?
UNE has two libraries: the Jack S. Ketchum Library on the Biddeford Campus and the Josephine S. Abplanalp Library on the Portland Campus. If an item is owned by UNE but is located at the "other" campus library, you may use your valid UNE ID card to request that the item be delivered to your "home" campus library (journal articles can be requested and received electronically). Borrowed items may be returned to either campus library.
What is the delivery time?
Intercampus delivery requests are processed Monday through Friday, except holidays. Delivery is generally 24-48 hours. You are notified by email when the item you have requested arrives.
How do I request an item through intercampus delivery?
Book, Video, DVD, or CD requests: Search the UNE Library catalog for an item. When a title is selected, a record is displayed. If the item is located at the "other" campus library:
- Click on PLACE A HOLD
- Enter your name and UNE ID barcode number
- Choose your preferred UNE campus library for pickup
- Click on SUBMIT
Journal article request: Search the UNE Library's catalog for a journal title. When you have confirmed that the journal volume/issue is located only at the "other" campus library and is NOT available in full text online, submit your journal article request through ILLiad. The article will be delivered electronically through the ILLiad system.
What if I cannot find an item in the UNE Libraries' catalogs?
Books not found in the UNE Library catalog may be requested through MaineCat. Books not available in MaineCat may be requested through ILLiad, UNE's interlibrary loan system. Journal articles not available in the UNE Library catalog or not accessible in full text online may also be requested through ILLiad.
