You can search psychology and related fields in the PsycINFO database via the ProQuest interface.
What Is PsycINFO?
Produced by the American Psychological Association, PsycINFO provides indexing, abstracting, and some full text and covers psychology and psychological aspects of related disciplines. In addition to international materials selected from periodicals written in over 25 languages since 1887, it includes current chapter and book coverage with worldwide English-language material published from 1987 to the present.
Log-On Instructions:
Steps To A PsycINFO Search:
* Enter your key word or phrase; limit search to peer reviewed articles; and under More Search Options limit Language to English; click on Search.
Ex. family therapy <Search>
* At the Results list click on the (blue) article title to view the full record with abstract.
* Mark records desired by clicking on the box to the left of each citation within the Results list; click on Marked List to review selected records and to print or email those records.
* View and print any available full-text articles by clicking on Article Linker.
Searching Tips:
* Click on Help for screen specific assistance.
* Use AND to narrow a search.
Ex. family therapy and substance abuse
* Use OR to broaden a search.
Ex. family therapy or counseling
* Use the Thesaurus to locate specific, controlled vocabulary subject headings.
* Searches may be limited (in addition to language) by selecting More Search Options (e.g. year and document type).
* Author and journal title searches may be done by clicking on More Search Options.
* To check journal availability (or Holdings) in print format and/or electronic format, use the Libraries Catalog on the UNE Libraries homepage.
