Expertise
Health literacy, plain language, and clear health communication. The Health Literacy Institute provides plain language consulting, training, and materials development. We work in the public and private sectors, in academia, in public health and medicine, across many health topics and conditions. We publish in peer reviewed journals, contribute to policy, and train at a national level.

Research Interests/ Scholarship
We participate in research projects as plain language experts. We helped develop the first plain language decision aid (for men with early stage prostate cancer) and helped establish international criteria for patient decision support tools.
