Building Narratives: Intermediate Fiction Writing Workshops

Building Narratives is a series of intermediate fiction workshops, which meet over an eight week period in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer at the Maine Women Writers Collection.

Building Narratives focuses on the key elements writers use to build an effective story.  Each week, participants will examine and discuss one element of fiction to gain a deeper understanding of the components of narrative and sharpen their skills as writers.

Topics include point of view, plot, narrative voice, flashbacks, dialogue, and other key elements of a good story.  Short, in class exercises will be given, as well as reading assignments.  This course is ideal for beginning writers, but also offers a refresher for more advanced writers.

This intermediate fiction course is open to men and women, with a limit of 8 participants.
