New England Osteopathic Heritage Center
Stella Maris, University of New England – Biddeford Campus
The New England Osteopathic Heritage Center is a regional resource center dedicated to preserving, promoting and providing access to the history of osteopathic medicine in New England.

The center is a dynamic resource of archival material, museum displays, and educational programs created to honor the profession – and the men and women who have served New England as mostly primary care physicians for more than 100 years.
Osteopathic medicine blends a full medical education with a holistic perspective of health that honors the body's own healing powers. NEOHC is actively collecting and safeguarding the rich history of the profession and its physicians.
The Center is located at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. Current objectives of NEOHC are to:
- maintain a self-sustaining resource center to accommodate archival collections, displays, and forums for the profession
- plan and promote educational forums in osteopathic medicine and its history
- advise and encourage other osteopathic institutions in the collection of osteopathic history
- increase and secure financial support to further its mission
- expand access to NEOHC’s resources, collections, and materials via the UNE website
NEOHC collections include:
